Gary, is our top refinishing expert. It has taken many years of experience and study
of refinishing techniques and latest paint technology to enable him to provide the top quality finish that will probably be
better than the original. He has also studied grp (glass reinforced plastic) layup and repair including strengthening
weak keel attachment points and osmosis problems and treatments.
Ian, one of our engineers is also our preparation expert and believes that if you
can see his work then it has not been done properly, hour after hour of sanding and filling provide the ideal surface for
Garys' refinishing.
He has also been an apprentice to his father Mick (our engineer)
for many years and is now competent to carry out more advanced work on boat engines and has inherited his fathers
attention to detail to make sure that any work he undertakes will be to manufacturers specifications to lessen any chance
of a fault occuring. I am told he also makes a nice cup of tea.
Brian, who works for Mayflower Marina
is our only volunteer and is responsible for editing this website, however when you email us the emails now come
directly to our nerve centre in the tea room.
